An audio interface ensures that the audio signals can communicate with computers.

For this, the signals must be converted from analogue to digital in order to be transmitted to the computer via a USB or Thunderbold cable. Conversely, the computer can also send signals back to the audio interface, which must then convert the digital data to analog voltages in order to be sent via cables to boxes or other equipment. A good audio interface has a good AD / DA conversion, multiple types of inputs and outputs such as Mic, Line and Hi-Z for monitors, headphones, line-out, digital or optical output but is also stable, has a good interface and works fast (minimal latency).
